Dame Dash Provides ‘Paid In Full 2’ Update

“It’s going to be off the hook.”

Dame Dash is etched in hip hop history, and partially, it’s for the iconic 2002 film Paid In Full. Although there have been reports of a sequel for years, Dash confirmed it is still in the works.

In an AllHipHop interview with the 50-year-old, he said, “It’s what happens after [they] put all that work on the street, and somebody had to get that money back. There’s a lot of perspectives that people don’t know. We chose three, really one.”

According to Dash, the film will begin shooting in Newark, New Jersey soon and will dig deeper into the story of Harlem’s hustling underbelly during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

“Now I’m showing all perspectives,” he added. “So you’ll see a perspective from the stickup kids at the time, see a perspective of the younger dudes, I was a younger dude, the 16-year-olds. You’ll see perspectives from Kevin Childs, Jay Black, everybody, Lou Simms. It’s going to be off the hook. Trust me. A lot of other little stories will be told.”

The original Paid in Full starred Cam’ron as Rico, Wood Harris as Ace and Mekhi Phifer as Money Making Mitch. It grossed over $4 million worldwide and had a star-studded soundtrack featuring songs from Cam’ron, Jay-Z, Master P and more.
