On Easter Sunday, Trump Threatened Iran in Profanity-Laced Warning
On Easter Sunday, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to share a fiery, explicative-filled message to Iran, which left some questioning whether or not it was real.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” he wrote on Truth Social. “Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
The escalated warning struck many as an unusually unhinged post about Iran’s Strait of Hormuz and a direct threat to strike the country’s power infrastructure and bridges unless Tehran reopens the vital shipping lane.
"Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!" Trump posted hours later, giving an exact deadline.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy congestion points, and any disruption can quickly ripple through oil and gas markets. Iran has already pushed back, with officials calling the threats reckless and warning that the region could face wider fallout if the standoff continues.
The reopening of the waterway was framed as an urgent national-security issue, but critics say the rhetoric risks deepening an already volatile situation.
Trump’s messages also came after the recent rescue of two U.S. pilots inside Iran, which he referred to as "an Easter miracle" in a text message to NBC News.
In a separate social media post, Trump said U.S. forces "rescued the seriously wounded, and really brave, F-15 Crew Member/Officer, from deep inside the mountains of Iran," calling the operation "an AMAZING show of bravery and talent by all.”
He continued, "The U.S. Military sent dozens of aircraft, armed with the most lethal weapons in the World, to retrieve him. He sustained injuries, but he will be just fine."
In a recent Axios interview, Trump stated that there was a "good chance" that the U.S. and Iran could reach a deal by Tuesday. However, he added that "if they don’t make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there."
