Spanish Artist Gives Kim Kardashian, Iggy Azalea and Others Plus-Size Makeover

David Lopera makes a statement with Photoshop.

Photoshop is the dirty little secret used to make celebrity bodies defy gravity on magazine covers. Now, a Spanish artist has turned the table on body image with the tool, using it instead to add many extra pounds to stars like Kim Kardashian, Iggy Azalea and more.

David Lopera, 20, is gaining major attention for his business of digitally-altered portraits of beautiful starlets, often commissioned by men who like their ladies thick. "Men are always writing to me asking if I can make their celebrities crushes look a bit fatter," he explains to the Daily Mail. "Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence and Kim Kardashian are some of the most popular requests I get."

While the purpose of Lopera's business wasn't initially to make a statement on society's obsession with being thin — rather, he only intended to provide a service to his clients, who he calls "chubby chasers" — he embraces the unintended effect of his work and even encourages stars to see the beauty in a rounder physique.

"These women look much better when they're overweight," says Lopera, who is in a relationship with a full-figured woman himself. "I prefer [Frozen's] Elsa when she's a fat princess. That's a real woman right there. Look at my pictures and you will see that big is beautiful."

Lopera realized he was onto something when he manipulated Katy Perry's first album cover to make her look more filled out. The image instantly went viral. "Soon, men were messaging me with requests to Photoshop other stars to look flabby," he says.

It's doubtful fashion magazines will be knocking on Lopera's door to fatten up their cover models anytime soon, but it is refreshing to see someone use Photoshop to achieve a more realistic image rather than the other way around.
