Terry Crews Responds To Backlash Over Comments About Single Parents And Same-Sex Couples
Terry Crews has been praised for his powerful conversations about toxic masculinity, sexual assault and misogyny. However, he's now on the receiving end of backlash overs tweets about single mothers, same-sex parents, women writing about raising boys and the importance of men being involved in child-rearing.
Back on Feb. 24, Terry tweeted that he didn't like that a woman wrote an opinion piece for the New York Times on "how boys should be taught to grow into successful young men." He questioned, "How would she know?
He also tweeted, "Women can speak with us. Just not FOR US."
He didn't stop there. Terry Crews continued tweeting on March 1. “I’ve reiterated many times that same sex couples and single parents can successfully raise a child. But I believe paternal AND maternal love are like vitamins and minerals to humanity. No matter where you get that paternal and maternal love. MY purpose is to give paternal love.”
When a user responded that “love is not gendered. A child will not starve with only one gender loving them,” Crews replied with, “But they will be severely malnourished.”
After getting hit hard on twitter, Crews deleted the tweet and apologized, "I apologize to anyone who was hurt by my 'severely malnourished' (sic) tweet. It was in response to someone who said kids wouldn’t 'starve'. It was poorly worded so I deleted it."

Crews continued to respond to several comments, including one that said, "What the F**K is wrong with you dude. We all trusted you, only for you to turn out to be a misogynist, homophobic a**hole.”
