Update: Chris Brown Given An Additional 131 Days in Jail

Breezy's lawyer clears up speculation around his probation violation admission. Previously, Breezy owned up to violating his probation in D.C. assault case.

UPDATE: Chris Brown's acknowledgment of a probation violation does not equal a confession of guilt in his Washington, D.C., case, his lawyer says.

Attorney Mark Geragos clarified speculation around him telling a judge that Brown's D.C. incident last fall "more likely than not" breached the terms of his probation in the Rihanna attack. That admission, however, is not strong enough to prove the D.C. misdemeanor assault charge beyond a reasonable doubt and will likely not be used as evidence by prosecutors.

Brown is expected to be released from the L.A. County Jail sometime this week.

Chris Brown was ordered back to jail for an additional 131 days Friday (May 9). Brown has been locked up for close to two months. In court today, he admitted that a Washington D.C. fight violated his probation stemming from the 2009 Rihanna assault.

Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin sentenced the "Loyal" singer to a year behind bars with 234 days of credit for time served in custody and rehab.

Brown was thrown out of a treatment center in March after he violated facility rules. He was arrested and taken to the Los Angeles County Jail.

Additionally, Brown faces misdemeanor assault for the incident in D.C. involving his bodyguard Chris Hollosy and a 20-year-old man. Bloody photos of the alleged victim, Parker Adams, were released this week.

The trial in the D.C. case has been delayed, but may begin as early as next month.

Muddled in all the bad news is what could be a silver lining for Breezy. According to his lawyer Mark Geragos, the Grammy–winner might be freed within the next week due to jail overcrowding as well as the credit for time served.
