Nick Cannon Doubles Down on Trump Support
Nick Cannon is back in the political spotlight after praising President Donald Trump and casting doubt on both political parties.
On a recent episode of “Nick Cannon’s Big Drive,” guest Amber Rose shared that she moved away from the Democratic Party and argued that Democrats “don’t care about Black people” or people of color, while Republicans do.
“People don’t know that the Democrats are the party of the KKK,” Cannon said. “People don’t know that the Republicans are the party that freed the slaves. I mean, both you and I have some conservative views. You just a little bit more outspoken than I am. And honestly, I don’t subscribe to either party. I rock with W. E. B. Du Bois, when he said there’s no such thing as two parties. It’s just one evil party with two different names.”
This historical fact is often cited in pro-GOP debates, without acknowledging just how different both parties have evolved from their origins.
Cannon also said he does not subscribe to either party, but made clear he supports Trump. Rose, who spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2024, said she voted for Trump and described the media as misleading people about him.
The conversation is the latest example of how a small but visible group of Black entertainers has leaned into conservative politics in public, even as those views remain deeply polarizing.
Cannon has previously faced backlash for antisemitic remarks, while Rose has also faced criticism for her pro-Trump stance.
“We got the Gulf of America now,” said Cannon. “[Trump is] like the club. He’s charging a $5 million bottle service fee to get into the country. I f*** with Trump.”
