Scar Lip Names The Artists Who Helped Elevate Her Rap Career
Scar Lip is very much still on the come up, however she’s receiving the hip-hop community’s approval rather quickly.
During a recent interview with VLAD TV, the Brooklyn rapper described her upbringing and the story of her stage name. She also revealed who of hip-hop’s biggest stars has already co-signed her.
“When Boosie reposted me, it felt like I had a shot,” she said. “That’s when motion started coming in. His push, [and] his co-sign, got me a lot of press…that s**t helped my career a lot.”
Cardi B is another big time artist who recently cosigned the “Glizzy Gobbler” and “This is New York” rapper. “I couldn’t believe that..that post changed my life. I love her so much,” she noted, adding that the Bronx rapper is one of her biggest inspirations. “She started from the bottom and raised her way to the top, [and] anybody that feels a way about that…you’re just weird. Everybody starts from the bottom. How could you not be inspired?”
Additionally, Scar Lip described her unique friendship with Shaquille O’Neal, which she says began through an Instagram DM. “He was like, ‘yo keep spitting that hard s**t,'” she said. “It was like four in the morning, [and] something told me [to] check my phone. I look and see [that] Shaquille O’Neal text me. I said, ‘Is this a dream? Is this real?’ [and] I started jumping up and going crazy.”
