TikTok Star Mainly Mannie Opens Up About HIV Diagnosis In Emotional Hospital Video
TikTok sensation, known as Mainly Mannie, recently shared a deeply personal health update with his followers. In a series of Instagram videos posted on October 12 and 13, Mannie revealed that he was diagnosed with HIV over the summer after experiencing a sudden loss of mobility. Mannie shared that he wasn’t able to walk. “Life been trying to take me out lately,” he expressed in a hospital-recorded video.
Known for his humorous alter ego “Boss and CEO” and the viral phrase, “you have been promoted,” Mannie has cultivated a strong online community, boasting 1.5 million followers on TikTok and nearly 400,000 on Instagram. Despite the challenges posed by his diagnosis, Mannie conveyed optimism about his recovery. “I feel like me. I feel like the Boss and CEO, so can't wait to bring her back you guys,” he shared.
Mannie also shared the financial burden that his health is costing him. He disclosed that his monthly medications cost $4,000. “So, I’m going to be working a lot,” Mannie shared. He launched a GoFundMe to help alleviate the strain and so far has collected over $14,000 within a few days. Mannie is grateful for all of his loyal “employees” who have been able to help. In the video, he added, “Every little donation — the fives, the big hundreds… I don’t know what to say. All I know is that I'm going to have a better future because of this.”
Mannie is currently in rehab, learning how to walk again and in high spirits. He remains hopeful and determined to return to his online persona. He also shared that his ex gave him HIV, but he takes responsibility for his diagnosis and is focused on his healing. His transparency and resilience continue to inspire his followers during this challenging time.
