Law Roach Explains the Story Behind Zendaya’s ‘The Drama’ Press Tour Looks

The actress and her longtime stylist turned the film’s wedding-themed storyline into a full fashion narrative, from ‘something old’ to ‘something blue.’

Zendaya and Law Roach are a match made in fashion heaven! The two style enthusiasts are back at it, and this time the fashion story is all about love, marriage, and a little red-carpet drama.

In a recent interview, Roach explained that the press tour looks for “The Drama” was designed around the film’s wedding-centered plot, which follows an engaged couple dealing with the fallout of a shocking confession. So instead of just serving pretty clothes, he and Zendaya built a full fashion narrative around the classic bridal rhyme: “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.”

The results have been exactly the kind of high-gloss, highly intentional style moment fans expect from the pair. Zendaya kicked things off in a white Vivienne Westwood gown she first wore to the 2015 Oscars for her “something old” look, then followed it with a long-sleeved Louis Vuitton bridal gown with a dramatic black bow for “something new.” For “something borrowed,” she wore a black Giorgio Armani Privé dress that Cate Blanchett originally debuted at the 2025 Venice Film Festival.

To close out the fashion show sequence, Zendaya stepped out in a bright blue Schiaparelli gown constructed with thousands of hand-dyed silk feathers, which Roach and Zendaya said felt like the perfect “something blue.”

Zendaya has also continued to turn heads away from the “The Drama” carpet, including at the Euphoria season 3 premiere, where she wore a daring Ashi Studio halter gown and was seen wearing both her engagement ring and gold wedding band.

Roach told People that the whole concept was about “storytelling” and that tracks. In an era where press tours can start to feel repetitive, Zendaya and Roach prove that a promo run can be just as thoughtfully constructed as the project itself. With “The Drama” now in theaters and more major Zendaya projects on the horizon, the fashion conversation is clearly not slowing down anytime soon.
