This year, Brown is up for four nominations at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, including “Outstanding Male Artist” and “Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album” for his Davido and Lojay collaboration “Sensational.” As the Grammy winner continues to build his canon of inventive visuals, let’s look back at five of his iconic videos that showcase him as the consummate performer he is.

  • “Gimme That (Remix)”

Brown teamed up with Lil’ Wayne and co-director Erik White for his self-titled debut album to bring his “Gimme That (Remix)” video to life. The R&B singer devised the idea behind the “roaring '20s meets 2006” visual, where he showed off his impeccable dance moves against the “Harlem Nights”-themed backdrop. Fun fact: Brown and White also worked together on two other videos from the former’s debut album, “Run It!” and “Yo (Excuse Me Miss).”

  • “Look At Me Now”

Brown’s signature street style and love for hip-hop inspired his iconic Colin Tilley-directed “Look At Me Now” video, where he joined forces with icons Busta Rhymes and Wayne again. From the heavy graffiti and dance freestyles to the casual fashion and gritty setting, Brown channeled all elements of the culture perfectly while showing off everything contributing to his artistry.

  • “Loyal”

“Loyal” is arguably one of Brown’s most iconic videos to date, most notably for its memorable choreography that helped earn the visual well over 1 billion views on YouTube. The LA-set video features longtime collaborators Tyga and Wayne, plus star-studded cameos from Usher, Trey Songz, and Ty Dolla $ign.

  • “New Flame”

The sleek, all-white “New Flame” video, featuring Usher and Rick Ross, is yet another example of Brown in all his R&B glory. The singer delivered yet another smash hit alongside a classic choreographed routine that only further ignited his X album era.

  • “Undecided”

One thing about Brown, his music videos will always involve some fun, fancy footwork, and his “Undecided” visual is no different. The dance-heavy video shows the singer sharing the spotlight with fellow artist and “Empire” alum Serayah as they deliver a choreographed duet for the ages.
