Rihanna Attends Father’s Funeral in Barbados With A$AP Rocky and Kids
Rihanna had full support as she attended her father’s funeral this week in Barbados.
According to TMZ, Rihanna was seen with her son, Riot, in hand. Her partner A$AP Rocky was not too far behind with their child RZA as they entered the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium. Ronald’s fiancée, Rosemary, was also in attendance.
The pop star and her father didn’t always have the best bond, however, they were able to make amends before his unfortunate passing.
“You grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness' sakes!" she shared to Billboard. "And then he does something so bizarre that I can’t begin to wrap my mind around it.”
She then shared during a television appearance featuring Oprah, that they were able to “close the gap.”
"He taught me everything, and as awful as he was to my mom, at times, it didn’t compare to how great he was as a father," she said during her appearance.
"And I had to come to terms with that, and I was able to close that gap with him.”
BET.com reported in June that Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, passed away on May 30th at age 70.
According to his death certificate, Ronald passed away due to acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer, and aspiration pneumonia, a bacterial lung infection. Other causes also listed in the document were acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis.
