Shia LaBeouf was recently taken away in hancuffs during his "He will not divide us" marathon protest site in New York City after getting into a disagreement with another protester.

TMZ reports that, according to police, things took a left turn when another protester walked in front of a mounted camera and said something regarding President Trump that upset the Even Stevens star, resulting in his grabbing the man's scarf and scratching him.

However, other protesters added a bit more context to the story, saying, "Shia took a hit for us. There were all these Nazis here. He came out and tried to protect us."

The actor is said to be looking at a misdemeanor assault charge if he is booked.
