Michelle Obama Shows Love to ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ and Momma Dee
Michelle Obama proves that even former First Ladies aren’t immune to a bit of reality TV drama.
During a candid moment on her “IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson” podcast with guest Taraji P. Henson, the former First Lady revealed that she watches “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta“ and has a soft spot for one of the show’s most unforgettable personalities: Momma Dee.
“Now y’all know I love me some ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’—Momma Dee is my girl!” Obama shared with a smile. The shout-out immediately sparked excitement online, with fans celebrating the unexpected but oh-so-relatable confession.
“Michelle Obama knowing who Momma Dee is so funny to me. She really is locked in to the mess like the rest of us lmaoooo,” wrote one X user.
While another commented, “Momma Dee bout to be beyond outta control now. We won’t hear the end of this.”
Naturally, it didn’t take long for Momma Dee to catch wind of Obama’s shout-out. The reality star reshared the clip on her own Instagram page, writing, “For me and my son @reallilscrappy to be recognized by two incredible Women is unexplainable! Thank you to the former First Lady of the United States @michelleobama & the amazing @tarajiphenson ! Much Love from the Palace to you!”
While the Obamas have long been known for their love of music, film, and pop culture—famously curating annual playlists and favorite movies lists—this latest reveal adds another fun layer to Michelle’s relatability.
