‘Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial’ will focus on the Atlanta rappers’ cases and others involved.

The ongoing Young Slime Life RICO case against Young Thug and Gunna is reportedly being turned into a HULU documentary.

ABC News Studios’ hour-long production Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial will focus on the growing criminal case against Thugger, Gunna and their Atlanta-based collective while diving into the issues of using rap lyrics as evidence in criminal trials.

The documentary features interviews with 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles, Young Thug’s ex-girlfriend Jerrika Karlae and other hip-hop artists with knowledge of the music business.

“Rap music is judged unlike any other genre like Black people are judged unlike any other people,” Killer Mike says in the trailer for the documentary.

Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial will also detail the legal history of former No Limit rapper McKinley “Mac” Phipps Jr., who served 21 years in prison for a crime he claims he did not commit. Lyrics of his were used in the prosecution’s case to convict him of manslaughter in 2001 over the death of a 19-year-old man at a Louisiana nightclub a year earlier.
