65th Annual Grammy Awards: Bronx Jazz Singer Samara Joy Wins ‘Best New Artist’

The 23-year-old beat out Wet Leg, Omar Apollo, Måneskin, and others to take home the award.

Samara Joy won “Best New Artist” at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.

Nominated alongside, Anitta, Domi & JD Beck, Latto, Måneskin, Molly Tuttle, Muni Long, Omar Apollo, Tobe Nwigwe, and Wet Leg, the 23-year-old jazz singer released her sophomore album Linger Awhile last year.

The LP also earned her a nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album at this year’s Grammys, a category she won earlier in the day.

Additionally, Joy performed during the premiere ceremony at Microsoft Theater.
