    In the 1980s, Doug E. Fresh, was introduced to the world as the first human beatbox. His mouth was able to perfectly emulate sounds of drums, beats and effects. Through his rap and his beatboxing, he became largely known in the hip-hop community.

    In 1985, Doug E. Fresh and MC Ricky D, a.k.a Slick Rick, dropped "La Di Da Di." The song broke them into stardom as Slick Rick rapped and Doug E. Fresh provided the beat — literally! Doug E. Fresh beatboxed and created instrument sounds all from his mouth! This song would later go on to be referenced in numerous songs, most notably "Hypnotize" by Notorious B.I.G. and "Lodi Dodi" by Snoop Dogg.

    "The Show" is another single that Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick created together. Once again Slick rapped and Fresh provided the beats. This song, along with "La Di Da Di," was a hit in the hip-hop community.

    In the '80s and '90s, Doug E. Fresh was not only a beatboxer, he was a pretty good dancer too! You can say he taught everyone how to "dougie."

  5. Teaching Us How To Truly Dougie!

    After the hit song "Teach Me How to Dougie" by Cali Swag District was released in 2010, Doug E. Fresh made a comeback to show the youngins where the dance originated from! He later performed it with the Will Smith at Gabrielle Union's 40th Birthday Party in 2012!

    From airwaves to big screens, Doug E. Fresh's music has been included on numerous soundtracks. Some movie soundtracks he's featured on include Ghostbusters 2 (1989), Don't Be A Menace (1996) and Brown Sugar (2002).

    At the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards, Doug E. Fresh rocked the stage and performed his hit record "La Di Da Di" with host Snoop Dogg.

    Doug E. Fresh took a break from rapping in 2010 to open up a chicken and waffles restaurant in Harlem, NY! From Yelp reviews, it looks like an amazing place to eat! Even though he has his restaurant and other entrepreneurial ventures, he will always be remembered as the amazing human beatbox!
