Miguel Drops a Psychedelic Visual for 'Waves'

There are cameos from J. Cole and Wale too.

Miguel is back with another video to accompany his smooth R&B jams off his latest album, Wildheart.

“Waves” isn’t about riding waves at one of the top surf spots in Hawaii. It’s actually about meeting someone and connecting with them on such a level that you’re riding their wave of energy throughout the entire night. That’s exactly what is happening in Miguel’s visuals for “Waves,” a trippy journey that includes scenes of downing tequila, partying, and deep sea symbolism. It stars Miguel in his own story to find love, but he might not be in the right place.

The crazy thing about this video is that it takes place in a club where Miguel is performing live. At the end, Miguel is sinking to the bottom of the ocean surrounded by more women. Who knew that Miguel’s music would be so literal?

Watch the teaser below, and the whole thing here.
