Floyd Mayweather's Daughter Iyanna Pleads Guilty To Stabbing The Mother Of NBA YoungBoy's Child

Yaya Mayweather also faces a civil lawsuit from Lapattra Jacobs.

Iyanna "Yaya" Mayweather has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 2020 stabbing of Lapattra Jacobs, the mother of rapper NBA YoungBoy's child.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the 21-year-old daughter of boxer Floyd Mayweather entered her guilty plea in a Houston courtroom, admitting to "unlawfully, intentionally and unknowingly" causing "bodily injury to Lapattra Jacobs" by cutting her "with a knife."

Mayweather’s plea removed the possibility at her sentencing of spending up to 20 years behind bars. Instead, she now faces a sentence of six years of probation for the assault, in addition to potential community service, restitution or both.

"We resolved the case between Iyanna and the State. The agreement calls for Iyanna being on deferred adjudication for a period of 6 years after which she will have no felony conviction and the case will be dismissed. She is eligible to have the deferred adjudication end after two years pending her good behavior," PEOPLE quoted Mayweather's attorney Kent Schaffer.

In addition to the criminal case, Mayweather also faces a civil lawsuit. NBC News reports that Jacobs sued Mayweather for damages, including physical pain and mental anguish from the attack. She is also seeking an undisclosed amount of money.

The events leading up to the April 2020 stabbing are unclear, but the police arrested Mayweather following the altercation at NBA Youngboy's home, according to NBC. Jacobs was hospitalized after suffering non-life-threatening injuries and underwent surgery.

Schaffer said, "Although we believe that Iyanna was defending herself after being attacked, we thought this [guilty plea] was the safest resolution for her. This is especially true since her boyfriend and his bodyguards refused to testify, probably due to their own legal problems."

Mayweather and Youngboy, whose name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, were in a relationship. They now share a son together.
