LL Cool J, Big Boi, D-Nice And More To Headline New Year's Rockin' Eve

The celebration will be held in New York, Los Angeles, and New Orleans.

New York’s annual New Year’s Eve festivities will feature some of the most legendary acts in hip-hop, including LL Cool J, DJ D-Nice, and more as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic tradition.

On Friday (Dec. 17), ABC announced the lineup for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2022. This year’s show will be split between three locations, including New York, Los Angeles, and New Orleans, and will reportedly feature more than five hours of performances.

LL Cool J, whose real name is James Todd Smith, will take the stage just before midnight with a melody of some of his most classic hit records. The “I Need Love” emcee confirmed the news on his Instagram account over the weekend, writing, “Let’s bring in the New Year together!!! Me and @ztrip are taking over Times Square just before the ball drops on @rockineve! It all starts Dec. 31st at 8/7c on ABC.”

In addition to the Grammy Award-winner’s appearance, Chlöe Bailey of the R&B duo Chlöe and Halle will also hit the New Year’s Eve stage to perform her debut solo record, “Have Mercy.”

Latin star Karol G and rock band Journey will also be in attendance.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Big Boi of the iconic rap duo Outkast will be joined by longtime collaborator and singer Sleepy Brown to perform some of their classic songs, “The Way You Move” and “Animalz.”

Ciara will be returning for the fifth year in a row for a very special performance with ABC’s very own “Club Quarantine,” with sounds being spun by the Club Quarantine originator himself, DJ D-Nice.  Other performances include Latin Grammy Award-winner Don Omar, who will perform both “Danza Kudruro” and “Se Menea,” with Nio Garcia joining him on stage. While over in New Orleans, award-winning actor Billy Porter will perform his new hit single “Children.”

The 50th-anniversary celebration will feature the show’s first-ever Spanish countdown, with Puerto Rico as the inaugural host destination. Fantasy Island star Roselyn Sanchez will co-host from the island, along with musical headliner Daddy Yankee.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022 will air live, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
