There’s going to be a spawn of Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence? Awww!

Eric Murphy (Eddie Murphy’s son)  and Jasmin Lawrence (Martin Lawrence’s daughter) are expecting their first child together, the couple revealed in a joint Instagram post on Feb. 2. In a black-and-white photo series, Jasmin, 30, showed off a visible bump while Eric, 36, rested his head on her stomach. The caption read, “Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift ❤️❤️❤️.” 

The two quietly tied the knot in May 2025 in a small church ceremony, a decision Eddie has described with affection. As Eddie recalled on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” “They went off, everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them... We're in-laws.” The family has leaned into that private-first approach even as fans obsess over each new milestone. 

Eddie’s public, warm, and light-hearted response to the relationship included a joke about the baby’s future. “Just our gene pool is going to make this funny baby. If they ever get married and have a child, I’m expecting the child to be funny.” 

The couple first went public with their engagement in November 2024 after more than three years together. Their reveal, complete with intimate photos, an emotional caption, and family shout-outs, drew an outpouring of congratulations from followers and peers who celebrated both the marriage and now this next chapter. Expect more family moments (and jokes) as the pair prepares for parenthood.
