Road To Grammys: Ranking Doechii’s Top 5 Videos
Doechii may be new to some, but she’s been putting in work since 2019. Her first project, “Coven Music Session, Vol. 1,” set the tone for a fearless and creative run that would soon shake the industry. When she dropped “Persuasive” with SZA, she had everyone’s attention, and she hasn’t let go since.
Fast forward to 2025, Doechii made history as the third artist to win Best Rap Album at the Grammys for her 2024 mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal.” Now, she’s back with five Grammy nominations, and this time her earlier work is getting its flowers. “Anxiety,” recorded in her bedroom in 2021 and officially released last year, is now nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.
Let’s celebrate Doechii’s major moves by showing love to her top five most authentic and original videos.
Alter Ego featuring JT
This song isn’t on an album, but it truly deserves a placement on something because it is a masterpiece. It opens with Doechii walking into the swamp, ready to hunt some alligators on a boat, and flips to a lit high-fashion kick back in the country with Dade County’s own, JT.
Anxiety
For the official video, she takes it back to the origin, opening in the same room where the original was filmed. As she records the song from her bed, a window shatters, forcing her out of the space as the chaos of her thoughts spills into reality. She tries to escape, but at every turn, another thought pulls her further from calm.
Nissan Altima
The bars on this song demand a visual that goes just as hard, and the mission was accomplished. What starts in black and white flips to color as Doechii and her entourage ride in a Nissan Altima while it’s being towed, and somehow it just works.

Persuasive featuring SZA
In this one, she taps into her fashionista, out-of-the-box, unapologetic bag and brings SZA along for the ride. They use their bodies as art, confidently showing off their curves and sex appeal in a way that feels mysterious and hypnotic.
Denial is a River
Doechii went the ’90s sitcom route for this video, using the “Family Matters” TV-style to tell this story. The whole thing plays like opening credits, with cameos popping up as she introduces the cast of “Denial Is a River Show.” Baby Tate, ScHoolboy Q, SiR, Teezo Touchdown, Ricky Thompson, and DJ Miss Milan all pull up, with Earl Sweatshirt making a surprise appearance as “Brad Pitt.”
