Tyler Perry Did An Amazing Thing For Victims Of Hurricane Dorian In The Bahamas

The film mogul proves, again, that his heart is as big as his bank account.

Tyler Perry is as well known for his philanthropic efforts as he is for his box office smashes, often using his resources on multiple occasions to help those who are less fortunate.

With Hurricane Dorian tearing through the Atlantic and destroying thousands of homes and lives in its path, the TV and film mogul didn't waste a moment to jump in and help. According to reports, Perry has dispatched his personal seaplane, based in Nassau, Bahamas, to provide aid to those affected by the tragic hurricane in the Caribbean nation.

Coming through for the victims in a major way, Perry sent supplies to the Abaco Islands (part of the Bahamas), which was devastated the most by the natural disaster.

According to TMZ, his plane already made two trips on Thursday, and he hopes to send several more shipments in the next few days.

Among the supplies Perry is sending to the Abaco residents are bottled water, juice, diapers, sleeping bags, hygiene products and several other basic necessities. The site also reports that the aircraft brought back seven passengers, including small children, a pregnant woman and several others who needed immediate medical attention, during the return trips.

Perry recently took to Instagram to thank "all the incredible people of the Bahamas" for welcoming him and promised to help them "rebuild stronger and better."

"You're not only in my heart and my prayers, you're in my blood," he wrote. "God bless you. Stay Bahamas strong. The sun will shine again."

Hurricane Dorian, classified as a Category 5 storm, destroyed the island nation earlier this week, leaving a minimum of 20 people dead and several others injured.

We send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the resilient victims and their families as they rebuild their lives.
