Nicole Ari Parker Shares the Key to Her 20-Year Marriage With Boris Kodjoe
Nicole Ari Parker reflects on her marriage and reveals the key ingredient to its success.
During an interview on the “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer” podcast, Keke Palmer and the 54-year-old actress explored the idea that “love is an action,” with Palmer saying it’s “something you choose to do.” Palmer then asked the “And Just Like That” star to share the key ingredient that has kept her 20-year marriage going strong.
“We chose each other very deliberately,” Parker expressed.
“But I think there was an instinct there where you're like, you know, people sometimes don't do this. Like, ‘Could I leave my children with this man? Yes. People marry men and have children with them and like, ‘No. Daddy's not watching you. Ugh.’ You know what I mean?”
She continued to praise her husband, Boris Kodjoe, emphasizing how he’s such a “good father.”
“Like, I have a very good father, so I had a very sharp sense…” she began.
“‘Okay, when it comes down to it, if the [s---] hits the fan, are you gonna ride?... or rise to the occasion?’ And I thought he would. And he has.”
The couple has been married since 2005 after meeting on set of the popular Showtime series, “Soul Food.”
