Well, this was unexpected.
Sherri Shepherd found herself in a tough spot on December 25 as she took to social media to beg her followers for money after claiming to be stranded near her ex-husband's home.
The former The View co-host explained in the video that she desperately needed cash for transportation as she had no cell reception or operative data service to order a ride.
"Sometimes stuff sucks," she said. "I had to drop Jeffrey [her son] off at his dad's in Orange County. I live close to Hollywood. I am stranded because my phone has no service to call Uber or Lyft. It won't connect. I'm stuck out here by myself."
After explaining that she had "no cash," only credit cards, on her person, she added that she was also unable to get in touch with any of her friends as they were "out celebrating" for the holiday.
"Jesus, I'm stranded!" she continued. "I need somebody to call me an Uber... I'm asking if you can loan me some money. It's probably going to be 50 bucks to get me back to Hollywood from Orange County."
Take a look at her plea, below:
Luckily, the comedian made it home safely as she took to Instagram once more where she explained in a follow-up video that someone stepped up to help her in her time of need.
"Hey, everybody. Just an update," she said. "I finally got someone to call me an Uber. Thank you Aspen, my goddaughter, 'preciate it. Shout out to Niecy Nash who called three times but the Uber kept going to Hollywood instead of Orange County. The outpouring of support and people checking on me... Merry Christmas."
Good to know she made it back safe and sound.
