Kevin Hart Has No Interest In Becoming An Ally To The LGBTQ Community: 'It's Not My Dream'

The comedian also spoke with Don Lemon about the scandal.

Kevin Hart continues to voice his refusal to speak on the now widespread scandal surrounding his past anti-LGBTQ comments. Taking to his SiriusXM radio show, he addressed those who suggest that he voice his support of the marginalized community that he once diminished.

Speaking on the controversy on his Straight From the Hart show, where he apologized, again, for the comments he made in the past, the actor said he does not appreciate that folks are trying to force him into becoming an LGBTQ ally.

"I don't like the forcing," he said. "I don't like, like Don Lemon goes on CNN, and he's like, 'You can fix this. Become an ally.' It's not my dream."

The comedian's comments were made in reference to Lemon's commentary on the debacle on CNN Tonight. In a follow-up segment, however, the news anchor shared that he and Hart had a one-on-one conversation which he promised to keep between them. He, however, did divulge the subject of their talk and confirmed that Hart voiced that he has no interest in being an ally to the LGBTQ community.

"You may not like the way he said it, [but] he did say, 'I'm sorry, I apologize,'" he said. "He doesn't want to be an ally of the LGBT community, that's his right — whether I like it or not, whether you like it or not."

Lemon went on to add that he "can understand" that, in Hart's eyes, "it feels like he is under attack," and ended his piece by reaffirming, "he's not a victim."
