If it wasn’t clear enough already, it's probably time to start addressing the issue of sexual and physical violence in the music industry. Houston rapper Z-Ro is the latest artist to catch a charge for allegedly assaulting someone. According to police records obtained by TMZ, the MC was arrested on July 26 for allegedly beating his girlfriend, Just Brittany, for two hours straight.
While Brittany just recently reported the incident to Harris County cops, she said the it initially occurred back in April 2017. Although it’s unclear why she waited an additional three months before reporting the incident, Brittany did provide police with recorded audio of the alleged assault.
And after gathering details of the attack, the authorities turned it over to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which determined the evidence was enough to issue an official arrest warrant. Z-Ro was reportedly charged with felony aggravated assault. He is currently being held without bond and is expected to appear in court sometime on Thursday, July 27.
Z-Ro now joins a growing list of rappers and singers accused of abusing women. In the past month alone, R. Kelly, A$AP Bari and Kodak Black have all made headlines for various offenses ranging from sex cults to posting explicit content that suggests foul play. And most recently, Rick Ross made questionable comments about why he couldn’t sign women to his music label MMG, stating he would have to “f**k a couple of times.”
Some one needs to have a sitdown with these artists and school them on how to keep their hands to themselves.
