Dame Dash Shares His Thoughts On ‘4:44’: 'Jay-Z Is Probably My Best Student'

"Everything I'm speaking about got reflected in that album."

The pinnacle years of Roc-A-Fella may be long gone, but Damon Dash's former allegiance with Jay-Z will forever remain a fixture in hip-hop's deep rooted history. So much so that the rap mogul feels his former business partnership with the Brooklyn emcee inspired a multitude of themes on Hov's latest offering, 4:44

In a recent interview with Complex, Dame talked about his newest business ventures, which include dabbling in the health and marijuana sector, taking on the role of the "bad guy in hip-hop and his thoughts on 4:44, the latter being a striking turn in the conversation.

"It seems like everything I'm speaking about got reflected in that album," Dame responded when asked about his thoughts on Jay's magnum opus. "The same way that I've been talking about rolling out albums is the way the album got rolled out. So I think people have been listening."

"I think Jay-Z is probably my best student and I can say that he listens and that's what always made him special," he continued. "He listens, so I can see that he's listening. And I mean that in the right way."

While Dame admitted to not listening to Jigga's thirteenth studio album, he's "glad that someone's going there." Check out Dame Dash's full remarks on 4:44 here
