Here's Why The Judge Who Sent Meek Mill To Prison Is Reportedly Being Investigated By The FBI

Results of the investigation could potentially lead to a major W for Meek.

After controversies surrounding the severely-imposed prison sentence of Philly’s top-tier emcee Meek Mill have brimmed over headlines, Page Six reports that the FBI have set an official investigation in motion for the judge presiding over his case, Judge Genece Brinkley.

Brinkley’s reported biases involved with her judicial discretion in sentencing the Dreamchasers leader was thrust to the forefront amid the public and Meek’s fellow hip-hop counterparts outrage about her decision.

According to the site, his attorney Joe Tacopina previously expressed that Brinkley held “enormous bias” against Meek. He reportedly added that her gripe stemmed from a former request where she allegedly asked him to ditch his Roc Nation management and turn over to Charlie Mack, Philadelphia’s celebrated music executive that he had done business with prior.

Brinkley’s alleged relationship to Mack, however, is a point of interest for the FBI, Page Six states. “The feds have an interest in the judge and [her] potential relationships,” the site reports of the FBI’s exclusive statement. “This is an investigation looking into a possible extortionate demand. Undercover agents have been in the courtroom monitoring the Meek proceedings since April 2016.

Mack, on the other hand, denies any sort of relationship to Brinkley, Page Six adds. Despite the FBI source allegedly claiming that he told Meek that his ties to her could help with his legal case, Mack adamantly refutes such a thing.

I’ve spent more time talking to you than I ever talked to the judge,” the site reports of his statement. “There is no conspiracy, Meek is an old friend of 30-plus years.”

Philadelphia’s FBI field office has not confirmed nor denied the investigation. But should the investigation turn up evidence of a possible conspiracy, things may be looking up for Meek much sooner than we thought.
