Report: Kevin Gates Officially Released From Prison
According to several reports and state prison records, Baton Rouge rap star Kevin Gates has been released from prison on parole Wednesday (January 10) after serving nine months in an Illinois state prison.
The news for BWA fans is especially exciting considering that Gates was sentenced to 30 months behind bars amid a weapons charge holding outstanding warrants in his name.
According to Pitchfork, January 10 is listed on records as his projected parole date. The rapper has also presumably confirmed his return via Instagram, scrubbing his account clean with nothing left but a two-word, mystifying message: “I’M HIM.” Previous reports also held that the rapper wouldn’t be enjoying his freedom in vain as he reportedly plans to become involved in preventative programs for at-risk teens who face potential incarceration.
