Nicki Minaj still remains the hot topic of nearly every Safaree interview and conversation despite the two being separated for over three years.
So does the ghostwriting accusations that lingered over the Young Money raptress’s budding career days, which held that Safaree was the actual lyrical mastermind behind her greatest pen work. But in 2018, the Brooklyn-bred rap artist is doing away with the controversy once and for all.
One of Nicki’s fan pages dug up what appears to be an old interview of Safaree’s where he directly addresses ghostwriting for his former girlfriend. There’s only audio available from the conversation, but the host gets directly to the question.
“Have you written any whole entire verses or songs?”
Safaree simply responds, “No,” and later on explains in the conversation that the two have bounced creative energy off of one another. But, he’s never singlehandedly penned any one, single piece of work for her. The clarification might be necessary now more than ever since Nicki’s next studio album is reportedly underway, and the common misconception that the Love & Hip Hop New York cast member is behind some her most famous lines still exists.
Sounds like there’s some apology letters for Nicki that’s long overdue for some of you.
