The Internet Is Digging Up This Rapper's Abusive Past For Claiming K. Michelle 'Ruined' His Life

Yikes.

After years of absence from the music scene, Memphis native Mickey “Memphitz” Wright Jr. appeared on Iyanla: Fix My Life to discuss his downward spiral from the entertainment industry.

A well-known and controversial fixture in that downfall are the accusations of domestic abuse made against him by his former girlfriend and Memphis-bred songstress K. Michelle, which he spoke to Iyanla about.

“I just got all of this stuff going on, and then all of a sudden I was lied on,” he said in the conversation with Iyanla. Memphitz had previously admitted to drug use and was explaining that he believed the music industry shunned him, causing him to lose himself a long time ago. “My ex-girfriend ruined my life because I simply didn't want to be with this person.”

He doesn’t specifically name drop K in the response. However, Iyanla makes it clear that the way he talks of his struggles makes him out to be a victim, and it appears that he absolves himself of responsibilities for his actions.

But after the internet tuned into the episode, witnessing his denial of K’s accusations on live television, they’re reminding everyone of the former music executive’s storied past of abusive behavior.

Listen to his conversation with Iyanla below and what viewers had to say about it below.
