Daniel Caesar Refuses To Apologize For His Black People Rant For The Most Insane Reason Yet
For anyone who was hoping for that apology from R&B singer Daniel Caesar after his tactless rant about the Black community, we unfortunately have some bad news for you.
In now-deleted tweets, the Freudian artist shared a thread of tweets in response to the swarming backlash inevitably following the controversial Instagram Live sentiments. Caesar questioned why “[Black people] are being so mean to white people right now,” defended white Instagrammer Yes Julz against Joe Budden and even accused Black folks of constantly victimizing themselves among other offensive remarks. But despite being intoxicated during his rant, which the 23-year-old recalled several times throughout the video, he now says that he meant every word and won’t be taking a single one back.
‘Yo, I feel bad for you guys [to be honest],’ Caesar wrote in the string of deleted tweets…
“Haven’t seen anyone offer alternative solutions just criticisms…too bad,” he said. He also caught some of the harsher wisecracks about his appearance in his mentions too, which he believes is only an attempt from people who “want [him] to hate [himself] so bad that’s why you keep telling [him] how ugly and stupid [he is].” He makes it clear that he’s “never thought more highly of himself,” though.
For Caesar, he continued in the tweets, the controversy and conversation are a double-edged sword, so he’ll be throwing in the towel from here on out. And despite being aware that he has pissed off an overwhelming majority of his Black fan base, he also had a reason for why they won’t be receiving an apology from him, too. “So I’m gunna shut up from now on but I DO NOT APOLOGIZE,” he wrote. “Cuz you guys didn’t convince me.” He then urged everyone to “screenshot these twees cuz my publicist is gunna make me delete soon” — the publicist who he deems a “strong black woman” who he actually listens to.
Caesar’s follow-up sentiments now appear to have only added insult to injury, however. And in spite of him waving the white flag at Black Twitter, they’ve still got plenty of grenades left to toss at the “Who Hurt You?” singer’s insurgence:
