On the heels of being honored with BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented by pop empress Rihanna, Mary J. Blige hit the 2019 BET Awards Stage to perform a slew of her timeless hits.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul and Yonkers representer ran through songs like “My Life,” “No More Drama,” “I’m Going Down,” “Real Love,” “You Remind Me” and “Be Happy,” among others.

  1. Mary, pristine in all-white and donning big hair energy, wow’d day-one fans everywhere by bringing out fellow New Yorker and beloved rapper Lil’ Kim (dripping in a sleek, crimson red getup) for “I Can Love You,” a collaboration that inarguably evoked the nostalgia of hip-hop’s yesteryears.

The singer’s rousing set, laden with her famous feel-good dancing, culminated in yet another classic New York moment with “You’re All I Need,” one of hip-hop’s greatest love songs featuring none other than Staten Island MC Method Man—and viewers everywhere were here for it.
