Gucci Mane Breaks Down Breakfast Club Beef With Angela Yee And DJ Envy After They “Declined” To Interview Him
Gucci Mane sat down with Charlamagne Tha God sans the radio personality’s usual Breakfast Club co-hosts, Angela Yee and DJ Envy. Gucci has been in a feud of sorts with Yee that has played out in back-and-forth exchanges on social media after Guwop claimed that Yee tried to get at him in a 2016 interview with the Power 105 radio show, which she denied on-air.
The feud took another turn earlier this month when the “Lemonade” rapper alleged in an Instagram post that Yee had him banned from The Breakfast Club in retaliation. In response, Yee and Envy resurrected the “Club Court” segment where they shot down Guwop’s latest claims.
Speaking to Charla, Guwop maintained he was blacklisted per orders from “that punk a** b*tch [and] DJ Envy,” at the 54-minute mark.
"The day he did the people's court thing...he was there. Him and the girl. So he ain't have the nuts to come after he did that," Gucci continued. "Just like the way he stepped to [Desus and Mero] when they were talking about his wife....I'ma confront him about what he and Angela did, and if he come at me wrong, I'mma slap the sh*t out him.”
Shortly after the Charlamagne’s conversation with Gucci went live, Envy shared his side of the story on Instagram, reiterating that the rapper “was never banned” from their radio show.
“When asked, ‘Would I do an interview without Yee…’ My reply was, ‘I will not do anything unless you clear it with my co-worker,’” the DJ stated. “We call that riding for your team where I’m from!!! And he’s upset because my coworker defended herself...Never in a million years will I tell my co-hosts what to say or what not to say. We share that platform. When Gucci did that post about Yee, she defended herself on the Breakfast Club and he’s mad because ‘I let her do it.’ I have never ran from a conversation in my life...My kids are good, my wife is great and my dog is excellent...Anyway, I heard some lies and wanted to address it...Back to enjoying Paris.”
The rest of the interview detailed some of Guwop’s other infamous beefs with Nicki Minaj and Waka Flocka Flame among others that he’s since made amends with. Charlamagne commented on Gucci’s growth, stating “hopefully you can do that with [DJ Envy] and Angela one day, and all of y'all can get on one accord.”
To that point, all Gucci had to say about a possible reconciliation with Angela Yee and DJ Envy was a simple “f*ck them.”
