After last weekend’s battle between rappers Ludacris and Nelly, suggestions have been flying all over the place as to who will be the next artist to join in on Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz musical celebration.
Their platform has become R&B and hip-hop lovers' go-to destination for much-needed quarantine entertainment and the superproducers are back with a suggestion for an R&B dream matchup.
On Sunday (May 17), Timb and Swizz returned to Instagram Live where they continued their deliberations over more possible matchups with LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and Missy Elliott among others. While recapping Luda and Nelly’s match, Swizz noticed Jermaine Dupri in the comment sections and called on the famed So Def mogul’s help to make a battle between Jagged Edge and 112 come to fruition.
“Can you make that happen, JD? A lot of people say what they want to see but can you pick up the phone and make that happen?” Swizz asked him in the video. “I would love to see Jagged Edge vs. 112.” Timb chimed in. “Come on now. Don’t play no games,” he warned.
Tyrese and Keyshia Cole were just as hyped as fans in the comments section, although Swizz later shared an update that he’s still waiting on Dupri’s call, according to HotNewHipHop.
