Dwyane Wade Bonds With Newborn Son

NBA player fathered child while separated from Gabrielle Union.

UPDATE: Dwyane Wade confirmed Monday that he fathered a son during a brief split from Gabrielle Union

The NBA player acknowledged that he was the father of a little boy, born about a month ago, whose mother is not longtime love Union. "I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy," Wade said during a press conference Monday evening, as reported by the Sun Sentinel. "So I'm moving on."

Dwyane Wade is a father again. The Miami Heat player has been spending time with his newborn son, who he fathered while on a break from his relationship with fiancée
Gabrielle Union earlier this year, Entertainment Tonight reports.
The baby boy is Wade's third biological child. He has full custody of his two boys, Zion and Zaire, from ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, and is also raising his nephew Dahveon.
Wade has been clear about his commitment to fatherhood for years, participating in President Obama's Fatherhood Task Force and becoming a New York Times bestselling author for his book A Father First: How My Life Became Bigger Than Basketball.
The Being Mary Jane actress was aware of the child before she accepted the Miami Heat guard's proposal on December 21, a source says, and the pair have worked through the issue privately.
The couple, who have been together since 2009, have been open about the ups and downs of their relationship. "Celebrity relationships [are] very hard," Wade told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show in September. "This was a big year for us and our relationship from the standpoint of she was shooting her show Being Mary Jane, going most of the year. I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship, so we kinda took a step back."
He continued, "We supported each other ... but at the end of the day we came back together and [said], 'Listen, we want to continue this, we want to continue to try to get better each day,' and she's been with me, and I've been with her all summer long. We're going strong now."
Clearly, Wade and Union have come back stronger than ever. The couple recently put out their first joint Christmas card and are reportedly eyeing a September wedding.
