UPDATE: Scandal actor Columbus Short has been arrested for felony aggravated battery in Claremont, California. The actor has been released on $50,000 bail and faces up to four years in jail if convicted. A warrant was issued for Short's arrest on Wednesday, stemming from a bar fight in which Short allegedly knocked a man out cold, leaving him bloodied and unconscious.

Columbus Short's recent bar fight could land him in jail. An arrest warrant has been issued for the Scandal star in conjunction with the altercation, TMZ reports. Short is being charged with felony aggravated battery for sucker-punching a man and leaving him bleeding and unconscious.

Bond has been set at $50,000, but as of Wednesday evening, Short had not yet turned himself in. The actor has a history of violence, court records show. He was arrested twice last month for physically abusing his wife, one time in front of their young children. He pleaded no contest to the charges.

The actor was also prosecuted in 2010 for assaulting a basketball player in Los Angeles. The aggravated battery charges in that case were later dismissed.
