Tyra Banks shared some big news on Instagram Wednesday. The supermodel-turned-mogul announced that she and her boyfriend, Erik Asla, have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.
“The best present we worked and prayed so hard for is finally here," she wrote in an emotional post. "He's got my fingers and big eyes and his daddy Erik's mouth and chin. As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone." She concluded by sharing the little one's name: "York Banks Asla, welcome to the world."
This will be the first child for Banks and Asla, a photographer and her boyfriend of two years. The FABLife host has been very open about her struggles to conceive. Along with co-host Chrissy Teigen, she expressed her frustration at people who judge women who can't, or won't, have children.
"We're kind of going through this similar thing with IVF," Banks said to Teigen, who is now expecting a baby girl of her own. “And, you know, putting needles in your tummy every day and having to come to work and smile when you feel like you want to throw up and lay down — I can't believe I'm saying this right now!”
Congratulations to Tyra and her man on their bundle of joy! Can't wait to see that baby smize. Catch Tyra on 106 & Park in the clip below:
