Zoe Saldana covers the May issue of ’s Prestige magazine. Donning a romantic Elie Saab couture dress, as well as high-fashion pieces from Burberry Prorsum to Versace for the photo shoot, the actress looks stunning in the glossy fashion publication.

In her exclusive cover story, Saldana, who is of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, shares one of her big loves—fashion. “I love the artistry of fashion, and how things get made. It ties in to my love of art and dancing.” The star credits a long generation of fashion-driven women for her deep admiration. “I grew up in a household where my great-grandmother and grandmother were seamstresses for fashion houses. My mother is very fashion-forward, a really good instructor in the art of fashion, and has fantastic taste,” she tells the mag.

Saldana is also fortunate enough to share her love for fashion with another love in her life. “My fiancé [Keith Britton] used to be a model and loves fashion as well. We co-founded myfdb.com – myfashiondatabase.com. It’s all about fashion from behind the scenes, which didn’t exist until we set the site up,” she says proudly. “With it we’ve found a way to incorporate fashion into our livelihood. It sustains our lives and feeds our souls.”

A true love for fashion is seasoned by a love for designers, and the fashionista has her favorites. “Calvin Klein, after all this time, for his elegant, streamlined looks.” Also, Balmain jackets are her favorite, along with Yves Saint Laurent for its “beautiful, sexy and whimsical designs,” and her new favorite designer is Prabal Gurung. “I think you need to have in your closet an array of things that are fantastic.”
