Jill Scott is busy promoting her latest film, Get On Up, but not so much that she couldn't drop a pose for Essence's September issue. The singer is looking super svelte in a black form-fitting dress that shows off her new hourglass figure and a short blonde wig styled by Rihanna's stylist Ursula Stephens. She also shares that she has a new love in her life — but that's all you're getting from her on that subject. Scott said she's keeping her new relationship under wraps and assured fans that she's in a good place.
"My only job is to be happy. So for everybody that cares about me and is not trying to be all up in a celebrity's business, just know that I'm happy. My son is happy. We enjoy our lives," she said.
Scott also opens up about her 63-pound weight loss, dressing her new body and how she's started working on her next album, but is taking her sweet time with the record.
"I'm a wood-burning stove; it's a slow brew," she said.
