Serena Williams announcing her engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanion on Thursday sparked instant online fireworks, with some people congratulating the tennis legend and others having the nerve to throw shade at their interracial relationship.
Amidst the wave of reactions, one common response was, "Alexis who?" Well, we did some digging and here are a few quick facts about Serena's sexy and smart fiancé. Love, set, match!
According to his website, Alexis was born and raised in Brooklyn before moving to Baltimore and relocating to San Francisco, where he has invested in and advised 200-plus startups. Boss!
In addition to being a Reddit co-founder, Ohanion also scored a Wall Street Journal best-seller in the form of his 2013 book, Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made, Not Managed. Soledad O'Brien said that Alexis "shows you how to share your great ideas with an unlimited world online" via the book, as posted on Amazon.
Ohanion passed his tickets to a recent Monday Night Football game to a deserving eight-year-old kid. Sweet gesture. By the way, when it comes to football, Alexis happens to be a die-hard Washington fan.
“He said he’d never been into tennis until they started dating!” a source told USMagazine.com about his lack of interest in the sport until he began romancing Serena. From there, he has been hooked.
Alexis is romantic, yet knows how to be cute and silly, too.
Look how cozy the couple looked just last month at a party, where they were each other's "bear necessities."
And when Serena took to his Reddit platform to break the news about their engagement, he responded with an ultra-adorable, "you made me the happiest man on the planet."
Not to mention, he reportedly proposed to her via a surprise trip to Rome and dinner at the same exact restaurant and table that the two first spoke.
Sounds like Serena got herself a sexy and smart keeper!
