"When you work hard, you're going to have some things that change about you. And that scares people."
Recently Courtney Adeleye, the creator and CEO of haircare empire 'The Mane Choice,' hosted the second annual "The Baw$e Conference" in Miami, FL. Joined by special guests Supa Cent, Ms. Bling Miami and Jesseca "Judy" Dupart, the three day event brought out over 600 women from around the world. From Texas, Detroit and New York, to the UK and the Bahamas, hundreds of women and aspiring bosses came to Miami, FL to enjoy three days of in-depth workshops, seminars, and of course, some fun!
Held at the Loew's Hotel in Miami, Adeleye's Bawse conference kicked off on Friday (Aug. 23), with a welcome luau and party sponsored by Plush Vodka. It was here that most of the women had the chance to mingle, in a tropic-themed mixer and meet-and-greet.
The following day, the guests partook in an early morning meditation, followed by a group panel and Q&A with all four women. Later, following an inclusive lunch at the Loew's, the afternoon consisted of workshops and individual seminars led by each of the women of the conference. The evening ended with a Harlem Nights inspired, five-course dinner party, with a live performance by none other than singer Tweet.
On day three of the conference, guests were treated to a "turquoise"-color coordinated brunch. Along with a catered meal and mimosas, gospel star Fred Hammond was also the musical guest of honor, and was sure to leave the souls of every attendee on full, with a gospel medley of his greatest hits.
Following brunch was some "food for thought," as guests partook in day two of workshops and seminars. The seminars allowed all of the guests to break off into smaller, more intimate groups with the panelists, while honing in on some Bawse 101 tips, business advice and one-on-one chats. The evening ended with an all-white, all-inclusive farewell yacht party held at the port of Miami.
At the end of the conference, guests were sent home with a fabulous swag bag of Mane Choice products and Bawse conference merchandise, including t-shirts, sandals and a tote bag!
Stay tuned for part two of the recap, including exclusive interviews with all of the powHERful panelists!
