Solange Knowles

Solange is an R&B singer/songwriter and the younger sister of pop star Beyoncé.  While her debut album Solo Star (2003) went largely overlooked, she found her voice as a writer soon after.  She penned songs for Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, as well as Beyoncé's hits "Get Me Bodied" and "Upgrade You."  Her sophomore disc Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008) was a critically acclaimed mash-up of 1960's and 1970's sounds.  As an actress, she is best known for her voice work on the animated series The Proud Family and for starring in the straight-to-DVD film Bring It On: All Or Nothing. In 2012, Knowles released her third solo project TRUE. On November 16, 2014, she married her longtime boyfriend and music video director Alan Ferguson.
