WATCH: We Went to Amber Rose's SlutWalk
On Saturday, Amber Rose led approximately 500 people in Los Angeles for a #SlutWalk with the goal to educate people about sexual violence, derogatory blaming, and double standards when it comes to sex.
BET.com was front-and-center at the event, bringing you all the highlights and exclusive interviews. One attendee said that when it comes to sex crimes, the blame usually falls on the woman. “People rush to figure out what was she wearing, what was she doing, what was she drinking, but we don’t ask those questions about the people that are raping,” she remarks.
Of course, we had to catch up with the woman of the hour, Rose, who spoke about the future of the #SlutWalk. “We’re actually working on the next Slut Walk in two weeks," she tells us. "It’s going to be annually, we’re going to try to do it in different cities every year.”
Last month, Rose made headlines with her "Walk of No Shame" parody video, in which she cheekily celebrates her sexuality instead of allowing herself to be shamed for it. The video garnered over 1.5 million views in just two weeks.
