Tia Mowry took to social media to confirm the news that she’s divorcing Cory Hardrict, her husband of 14 years. Hours after TMZ broke the news that she filed for divorce in Los Angeles, the actress wrote the following post on Instagram.
“I have always been honest with my fans, and today is no different. I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways. These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children. I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives,” Mowry captioned a black-and-white photo of herself with Hardrict on Tuesday (Oct. 4).
According to TMZ, the legal documents cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation. The news outlet also reported that Mowry was requesting “joint physical and legal custody of their two children.”
FYI: The pair, who married in 2008, share 11-year-old son Cree and 4-year-old daughter Cairo.
Last week, Mowry attended Variety's Power of Women event and told Access that she is learning to focus on herself and “setting boundaries.”
When told she was glowing, the mom-of-two happily responded, “So many people have told me that. I was just in New York this past weekend, two people told me that I was glowing.”
So, what’s her secret? According to the star, her inner glow comes from “self-love.”
She explained, “I’m really, really just focusing on setting boundaries. I’m in my forties and I’m just now learning.”
To fellow ladies, Mowry offered the following advice: “No matter how old you are, start now! It’s really given me peace and joy.”
