A$AP Rocky Reflects on How Rihanna’s Third Pregnancy Feels Different
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna are expecting their third child after the Fenty Beauty mogul revealed her baby bump at this year’s Met Gala, with the rapper recently sharing how he plans to approach parenting differently this time around.
In a new interview with GQ, the Harlem native told the outlet how this pregnancy has been “different” in comparison to when they were preparing for RZA and Riot Rose.
“Nothing’s ever the same. Each experience is always just different in its own right. And it's no different with this one,” he told the outlet.
“I think the evolution of who I am as a person, as an individual, as a dad, an artist, as far as being a parent at that time. Just quite f*cking interesting if you ask me, to see in front of everybody's eyes how much I've been yearning to be a dad, and a loving dad.”
Reflecting on his role as a dad, Rocky spoke candidly about the emotional space fatherhood takes up in his life, noting, “I got nothing but love to give to these little ones. And as you can see, that's what occupies a lot of my heart capacity, is my father,” he added.
BET.com reported that, just like with their first two children, the couple plans to keep the tradition alive by giving their third baby a name that starts with the letter “R.”
During an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” the “Peso” rapper sat alongside Vogue editor Anna Wintour, his fellow co-chair for this year’s Met Gala.
In the interview, Rocky was pressed on whether he and Rihanna plan to stick with their signature “R” theme when naming their third child, a tradition that already includes his given name, Rakim Mayers, Rihanna’s full name, Robyn Rihanna Fenty, and their two children, RZA, 2, and 20-month-old Riot Rose.
“So, your first two kids have ‘R’ names. Obviously you and Rihanna have ‘R’ names. Is this a lock that the third will have an ‘R’ name, do you think?” Meyers asked around the 8:50 mark.
“For sure,” Rocky confirmed.
