Cam Heyward Defies NFL Order, Honors His Dad Again

Steelers defensive end continues to wear eye black saluting his late father.

UPDATE: The NFL and Cam Heyward have come to an agreement, in which the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end will not wear the eye black to honor his late dad, anymore.

According to ESPN, the league lowered Heyward's fine for violating its uniform policy, but he will find other ways to honor his dad off the field.

PREVIOUSLY: Cam Heyward was fined $5,787 by the NFL last week for wearing eye black with the words "Ironhead" to honor his late dad, Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, who died of cancer.

Well, the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end obviously doesn't care about being fined by the league because he wore the same eye black for the second straight week Sunday. Now, he'll face a fine of $11,787 from the NFL for violating its uniform policy for the second time, according to ESPN.

He has appealed the first fine, with the league set to hear his statement Tuesday, but doesn't plan to quit honoring his late dad.
"That's the goal," Heyward told ESPN. "There have been others, and I'm not going to name any names, that have worn it to support cancer. I don't want to get involved in it, but it's bigger than me. I'm not going to shy away from the fight against cancer, and I'm going to support them in any way possible."

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the NFL with players allowed to wear pink. However, Heyward's eye black with the words "Ironhead" on it goes against the rules.

Should he be allowed to continue to honor his late dad without being fined?
