Wesley Snipes stars as a transit cop named John, who's on a mission to save his foster brother and fellow transit cop, Charlie (played by Woody Harrelson), from stealing loot loaded in a train.
After losing his job, Charlie has a plan to hijack a train cart filled with tons of subway fares in hopes of making his life better. Charlie's plan is put on hold when, one day, a mugging occurs while he and John are patrolling the station. A new cop, Grace Santiago (played by Jennifer Lopez) joins the brothers on this patrol with plans to nab the mugger as well.

Everyone's plans are halted when they discover that all of the station's trains are stopped; all except for the "money train." Charlie believes this set-back is his final chance to take every dollar on the train.
