Many Say This Video Of Trump's Call To Another Gold Star Widow Doesn't Make Up For What He Said To Myeshia Johnson
After President Trump received much backlash for the alleged conversation between himself and Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson, whose husband, Sgt. La David Johnson, was killed in the Niger ambush, another widow released video of her call with Donald Trump.
According to Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, Trump told Johnson that her husband knew what he signed up for and never referred to him by name. This encounter has resulted in much criticism of the president. However, a recent video showed Trump speaking to a widow in a completely different manner.
Natasha De Alencar's husband, Army Staff Sgt. Mark R. De Alencar, was killed in Afghanistan on April 8. About a week later, De Alencar received a call from President Trump, reported the Washington Post.
During the call, Trump said he was very sorry about the “whole situation,” and he said De Alencar’s husband was “an unbelievable hero.”
Trump also invited the widow to the white house if she is ever in Washington
Many could not deny the heartfelt nature of the phone call
However, some believed this call does not take away from the alleged disrespect he showed Johnson
