Fetty Wap’s Sister Urges Judge to Shorten Rapper’s Sentence During Second Chance Month

Divinity Maxwell-Butts is asking that the rapper’s sentence for a nonviolent drug offense be commuted so he can return home before 2027.

Fetty Wap’s sister is calling on the justice system to show leniency as the “Trap Queen” hitmaker continues to serve time on a federal drug conviction.

In a message posted to the rapper’s Instagram account this week, Divinity Maxwell-Butts publicly requested that her brother’s sentence be commuted so he can return home before his scheduled 2027 release.

“April is Second Chance Month—a time to recognize that people deserve redemption, not just punishment,” she wrote. “My brother has taken responsibility and served over half his sentence for a nonviolent offense. He is scheduled to be released in 2027, but justice should also mean mercy. His sentence should be commuted so he can come home to his family, his children, and his purpose. It’s time.”
